My names is Lawrence and I'm 21. I've been playing guitar for about 7 years and practise every day. I mainly play blues and classic rock like Clapton and Led Zep. I think of myself hopefully at nearly a professional standard. I like improvisational playing the most. Would love to play music for a living if I can find the right people and write the right songs. I've been in loads of bands around London and Norwich and have all my own gear. I really want to find a band and start writing orginal music which is modern yet still is influenced by classic rock and blues.

Hi, I'm looking for an established band (by that I mean a band that actually have all the members working in tandom!) I'm 22, and I ain't getting any younger!! I am happy to perform, and aren't bothered about whether I'm in an "Indie", "Rock", "Pop-rock", "Heavy rock", "Melodic metal" (by that I mean that I can do a pretty good Serj Tankian / Corey Taylor with occasional screaming, but not 100% death metal growl-kills my throat dead) or "funk rock" band. I have years of experience gigging, recording, doing the marketing side (news papers, radio, photo shoots, videos ect) I have an adaptable image. I have a massive stage presence and am committed 100%. I'm currently working with some friends that have been let down by a series of unreliable drummers and the band we had has been rendered useless, and I would like to get back on the circuit. I miss gigging and regular rehearsals! I will happily play covers, origianals, write new songs, re-work old songs, copy old singers in old songs, I take direction quite well(!) Got my own PA and all my own equipment, and live in Bradford! C'mon guys, help a brother out!! - Any questions, just ask goddamn it!

Bass player and guitarist wanted for metal band based in tewkesbury, near cheltenham in gloucestershire. I am currently sorting a new rehearsal room out at the momment it looks like its going to be in pershore but that is not set in stone. so if you can drive that would be great. we have not gigged yet but that will change if we can get the right people in the band. My band does not really exist at the moment, except inside my head. My name is Tom and music is a bit of a consuming obsession of mine. Having said that, I'm not a particularly good guitarist, despite having played for about nine years, but I'm good enough to be able to compose with it, which is where I believe my strength lies. Since I first picked up a guitar, I have been slowly constructing a number of songs, which have gradually formed themselves into an album (currently about 70% composed). This album has turned out to be about something (though this isn't a prog-rock concept album, I hasten to add, more of a mood-narrative intermingled with reoccurring leitmotifs for certain themes) and has aquired a name and a tracklist. I have made a fairly professional sounding recording of one of its songs (and some dodgier ones of some others), which I'll post once I've sorted out a patent. Roughly speaking, my main influences are: Leonard Cohen (lyrical style), Classical and Renaissance choral music (instrumental melodies and arrangements), Tool (drums and irreverent to pop convention song structures), The Pixies (for when nice and straight faced just doesn't cut it), The Arcade Fire (production), English folk music like Fairport Convention (vocal melodies) and Radiohead, in all their incarnations (for everything, especially since they're the first and still the foremost reason I listen to and make music....I really can't emphasise the Radiohead bit enough...I view them as making 'proper music' so if you don't really like them, we're probably not looking in the same direction at all). I'm looking for a group of musicians, and I'm pretty open minded about what gets played, though obviously there are some essentials. Drums, extra-guitar, backing vocalists (one of whom should be a female with a simple, folky 'earthy' voice), keyboard/glockenspiel, viola...all these would be welcome and I'm quite interested in woodwind as well, particularly bass clarinet, as well as synth stuff. Being highly skilled would obviously be nice, but mostly I just want people who will be 'in tune' with me, so to speak, who will understand roughly what I'm trying to do and join me in doing it (god knows I need the help!) and who will approach the music with enthusiasm, commitment and creativity. And like Radiohead. Living near me (in Canterbury or the surrounding area) and owning a nice big van would be quite nice too :P.It's my Christmas list! Obviously I'm not expecting all this to happen tomorrow... Tom x
