Q: How do I know the information on the site is up-to-date?
We keep this site fresh by automatically deleting entries from users who have not logged-on for three months - you'll only see postings from people actively looking for musicians
Q: Is the site free?
It's free to register and search for musicians. It's also free to use our email alert system - letting you know when potential matches register.
Only if we deliver, and you find somone you want to contact and they agree that they want to get in touch, then we ask you to become a member in order get hold of their email address
Q: Why should I become a member?
As a member you have full access to everything on the site. This means:
- Access to the email addresses of as many interested musicians and bands as you like
- Instant access to the website addresses of all bands and musicians who have posted one on the site
- An extra 2.7 mb of mp3 space, so you can load a full track of your music onto your page
Q: How much does membership cost?
There are various options, costing from as little as £3.40 for a whole month
Q: How do I become a member?
You can sign up for membership by clicking the link on your city or home page. Alternatively, when you find someone you're interested in, you'll be offered the chance to sign up during the contact process
Q: What's the maximum size of Mp3 file I can load up?
Members can load an mp3 of up to 3 mb. We also allow non-members a free mp3 clip of up to 300 kb.
If you need help with your Mp3 just send it over to us and we'll edit it for you and load it onto your page. There's no better way of letting people know what you're about! Send it to team@formingbands.co.uk
Q: How do I cancel my paypal subscription?
- Click here: www.paypal.co.uk/history
- Select SUBSCRIPTIONS from the SHOW drop-down menu
- Select THE PAST YEAR from the WITHIN menu
- Click the SEARCH button
- Click the DETAILS link next to your Subscription Creation
- At the bottom of this page, click CANCEL SUBSCRIPTION, then confirm
Any problems at all, just let us know and we can cancel your subscription for you
If you cancel a subscription at PayPal your membership will continue running till the end of the month you've paid for.
Q: How do I renew my membership by text-pay?
Just let your current membership expire. Then the membership page will reappear along with the instructions on how to send another text for another month's membership
Q: How do I change my profile?
You can change any of your settings by clicking link to the My Details page
Q: Why do I keep getting logged out?
If you find you're having to log-in to access each page check the settings on your PC - you must have session cookies enabled and security settings set to medium
Q: Will my email address be published?
No. No one is given your email address till you say so. Which means you don't have to deal directly with anyone you don't want to, saving you the hassle.
Q: So how do people contact me then?
If someone wants to contact you they click the contact button on your display page. We then send you an email with that person's details, telling you they’re interested. If you’re happy for that person to get in contact, you authorise us to give them your email.
Q: What's 'My Display Page'?
When you register you automatically create your own page where others can see who you are and what you do. You can upload images and Mp3s and say as much about yourself as you like.
Q: And what's 'My City Page'?
This is the homepage for the city or county in which you're based. From here you can find local bands and musicians. You can also run searches for all the bands and musicians that match your search requirements.
